ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – OMAHA

KPE Engineers – Architects – Forensic Experts has an immediate career opportunity for an Electrical Engineer. Candidate will design and develop layouts for electrical circuits or systems for power distribution, telecom, lighting, and fire alarm within commercial and light industrial building facilities. Candidate will also be responsible to create and assist in the production of schematics, project specific details, schedules, electrical one-line diagrams and riser diagrams. Individual will be required to have a basic knowledge of electrical equipment, wiring devices, lighting systems, fire alarm layouts, local and national building codes.

Designer will typically report to a manager or Electrical Engineer for specific project tasks. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related area of field is required. KPE is looking for a qualified designer with 3 or more years of related work experience. An individual capable of taking a moderately complex project from start to finish with little supervision is desired. The right candidate shall also have an open mind and be able to work and receive feedback in a collaborative manner.

JOB DETAILS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Identify, coordinate, and communicate project scope with design team and owner.
  • Create project demolition and new work floorplans for power, telecom, lighting and fire alarm designs as required.
  • Create electrical one-line diagrams that outline building’s electrical distribution.
  • Perform fault current calculations on electrical distribution system.
  • Perform photometric calculations for project’s interior and exterior lighting to determine proper lighting levels.
  • Populate details and schedules specific to project and add them to drawing set.
  • Coordinate with mechanical designers and engineers for supplying power to HVAC and plumbing equipment.
  • Coordinate with architects for electrical panel placement and RCP ceiling/lighting coordination.

INTERN ARCHITECT – IOWA, NEBRASKA, NORTH DAKOTA

KPE Engineers – Architects – Forensic Experts is looking to hire an Intern Architect with at least 2 years of professional office experience.

Intern Architects perform architectural assignments under direction, but not immediate supervision. They work from designs of others, compile data, perform design tasks, and assist in the drafting of schematic, design development and contract documents. They are expected to continue to develop a thorough knowledge of architectural drafting, detailing, building materials, codes and construction. Intern Architects may consult with manufacturers, evaluate materials and assist in architectural specifications and report writing, depending on complexity of individual assignments.

 REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor or Master of Architecture from an accredited university.
  2. Minimum of two years of related experience in all phases of architectural production and detailing required.
  3. On a licensure track or currently working towards licensure.
  4. Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop experience desired.
  5. Willingness to make the required time commitment to meet job and company obligations.
  6. Great listening skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce, develop, and detail all phases of a project through construction documents.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER/DESIGNER – OMAHA

KPE Engineers – Architects – Forensic Experts has an immediate career opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer/Designer. This position will work from our Omaha office located in the Old Market.  Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor or Master Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC) from an accredited University.

  5. Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook, AutoCAD, Revit
  6. Experience working with Revit is highly desired.
